Alex Yu, Visual Artist graduated in 2019 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from the University of Washington Seattle. AAS degree at Seattle Central College in Apparel Design and Development with emphasis on Technical Design and Manufacturing. Artworks include the following formats: Installation, Illustration, Digital, Photography, Cyanotype, Screen-printing, Monotype, Natural Dyeing, Weaving, Felting, Sewing, Knitting, and Wire Sculpture.
My interests lie heavily in art that implements concepts of design. I’m more interested in why decisions in art and culture are made, rather than just what they are. Some favorite artists include: James Jean, Pina Bausch, and Andrzej Zulawski. The German expressionist and European New Wave movements are especially influential to my works as well.
